Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist, Part-Time AI Coding Review - Remote (United States)

• $50–$70 per hour
• 100% remote
• Part-time
• At least 10 hours a week, under 20, you choose when

Review inpatient records and AI-generated clinical content on a schedule you choose, and help medical AI systems code hospital stays more accurately.

AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence: experts read what a model produces, decide whether it is right, and write the feedback that makes the next version better. Medical AI systems learn from examples checked by experienced coders, so the teams building them need inpatient coding specialists who can tell where an AI-generated note, summary or code suggestion departs from the actual record. This is part-time contract work done remotely, at least 10 and under 20 hours a week.

What you'll do
• Check inpatient records for correct ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding, and settle principal and secondary diagnoses for whole admissions
• Assess how MCCs, CCs, procedures and POA status change the DRG, and flag documentation that calls for a provider query
• Compare AI-generated clinical notes, summaries, patient details and code suggestions with the real documentation
• Resolve diagnosis and procedure code discrepancies, and enter and check AI-generated patient details in record and encoder systems

Why this is worth your time
• Earn $50–$70 an hour reviewing inpatient coding and AI-generated clinical content
• Work on medical AI systems whose notes, summaries and code suggestions you check against real records
• Apply your DRG, MCC/CC and POA knowledge to find where AI output falls short of inpatient coding standards
• Fully remote and flexible, no fixed shifts, no commute

Who this is for
• Current inpatient ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding experience
• Working knowledge of DRG assignment, MCC/CC concepts and POA indicators, plus current guidelines, official ICD-10 code sets and AHA Coding Clinic
• Background in clinical documentation review, inpatient coding, CDI or a closely related field
• Familiarity with inpatient medical record or encoder systems
• Preferred: an active coding credential such as CIC, CCS, RHIA or RHIT, or another from AHIMA or AAPC
• No AI experience needed. You bring the expertise; your judgment helps improve AI models.

Pay and details
• $50–$70 per hour, paid hourly as an independent contractor
• Part-time, at least 10 and under 20 hours a week; fully remote, United States
